This charm medieval building, dating back to the 13th century, has been just converted into a warm and refined country holiday villa, furnished of all the benefits of modern technology, available for a relaxing and invigorating holiday in the green landscape of Tuscany, or to use a base to discover the numerous and magnificent cultural and artistic sights nearby. Now our elegant holiday farmhouse, sat in beautifully maintained gardens with a large ecological swimming pool, features: 5 self-catering vacation-accommodations, each one with fireplace and individually designed, with separate entrance in the garden, welcoming atmosphere and a spectacular view on the hills and the valley, open barbecue, private covered parking, mountain-bikes, beautifully restored rooms for meetings, ceremonies (with catering service). The VILLA The large villa is the result of a careful restoration process that was completed in 2001. The original building, which evolved over centuries of continuous use, was made in stone and designed in the form of a "L" shape around a central tower which dates from the 12th to the 13th century. The raw and magnificent beauty of this rustic building revealed historical links with a noble past. This can be seen in the antique ceiling coverings of the ground floor and in the large fireplace, which dates from the pre-Renaissance period. It is endowed with a slab of stone engraved with ecclesiastical symbols bearing witness to the probable presence of the religious order, known as the Camaldolesi - a group of religious monks which are known to have played an important role in the medieval history of the Tuscan region. The splendid ceiling coverings of the two large rooms, which are located over the central section of the building, are also highly valued architectural remnants of an ancient portico which presumably date from around the XVIII century. The history and the function of the entire structure remains vague and uncertain due to the loss of the relevant historical documentation. It is known for certain that in the 19th century the villa and farm belonged to the wealthy Collacchioni family of the Maremma region. Among other things, the family were horse breeders who played a leading role in the development of local cultural activities.
